Terms of service

This website is operated by MET Architectural Design, an architectural practice with its office at Unit 5, 21 Fourth Street, Brgy. Saint Ignatius, District 3, Quezon City, Metro Manila 1110, Philippines.

Using this site means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site. Acceptance by electronic means is recognised under the Electronic Commerce Act of 2000 (Republic Act No. 8792).

These terms govern the website only. They are not our terms of engagement. Where you appoint us for a project, a separate written agreement sets out scope, fees, programme and professional obligations. If anything on this page conflicts with a signed appointment, the appointment prevails.

How we handle personal data is set out separately in our Privacy policy.

We may change these terms. The date at the top tells you which version you are reading, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. Where a change materially affects people who have already engaged us, we tell them directly rather than relying on this page.

You are welcome to read the site, link to it, and print or save pages for your own non-commercial use — including sharing a project page with your family, your contractor or your engineer.

You may not:

• Reproduce, republish or redistribute our drawings, plans, photographs or written content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
• Scrape, harvest or bulk-download the site, or use automated tools that degrade it for other people.
• Present our work as your own, or use our drawings or images to market another practice, builder or developer.
• Use the site to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, or transmit anything harmful.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its hosting, or any connected system.

We may change, move or withdraw any part of the site without notice, and we may suspend it for maintenance or any other reason. We do not promise the site will always be available.

The drawings, plans, photographs, written content, and the design of this site are owned by MET Architectural Design or used by us under licence, and are protected under the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines (Republic Act No. 8293). Our name and marks are ours.

Drawings are instruments of service

Under Philippine architectural practice and the Architecture Act of 2004 (Republic Act No. 9266), the drawings and documents we prepare are instruments of service. Paying our fees gives you the right to use them for the project they were prepared for. It does not transfer ownership of the design, and it does not give the right to reuse the drawings on another lot or another project.

MET Editions plan sets are licensed, not sold

Where you buy a ready-to-build plan set, you are buying a licence to use it, not the design itself. Unless your licence says otherwise:

• The licence covers one house, on one lot, for the purchaser.
• It is non-transferable. It cannot be resold, lent, gifted or passed to another owner, and it does not travel with the lot if you sell it.
• It does not permit redistribution, resale, or publication of the drawings, in print or as files.
• Building the same design a second time requires a further licence.

A plan set is not a permit set. Adapting it to your lot, your soil, your utilities and your local building office — and signing and sealing the drawings for building permit — must be done by an architect and engineers licensed to practise in the Philippines. We can do that work under a separate appointment, or you may appoint someone else.

Figures shown on this site are indicative. They are not an offer, not a quotation, and not a contract.

That includes published Edition prices, fee ranges, programme durations, and any output produced by the Pre-Design Suite. Those outputs are generated from the assumptions you enter and from typical values for comparable projects. They are a way to test whether an idea is roughly viable before anyone spends money — not a costing.

Real numbers move with the lot, the soil, access, the level of finish, the contractor market at the time of tender, and how much the design changes after it is priced. A construction cost indication on this site excludes, among other things, land, professional fees, permits and government charges, utility connections, loose furnishing, and contingency, unless it says otherwise.

No engagement exists until there is a written agreement signed by both parties, together with any initial payment that agreement requires. Enquiries, meetings, emails, calls and site visits — however encouraging — do not create one, and do not oblige either of us to proceed.

Nothing on this site is architectural, engineering, legal, tax or financial advice for your particular project. General guidance written for a broad audience is not a substitute for someone looking at your lot.

This site links to other websites, and uses third-party services for hosting, forms, analytics, maps and our newsletter. Those services are run by other people.

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability or practices of any third-party site or service, and a link is not an endorsement. When you use one, you are subject to their terms and their privacy policy, not ours.

The site and its content are provided as they are. We take care to keep the site accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is free of error, that it will always be available, or that anything published here still reflects present costs, regulations or our current practice.

To the fullest extent permitted by Philippine law, MET Architectural Design is not liable for loss or damage arising from your reliance on content published on this site, or from the site being unavailable or interrupted.

What we do not exclude. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes:

• Liability for fraud or wilful misconduct. Under Article 1171 of the Civil Code, a waiver of an action for future fraud is void.
• Liability for gross negligence, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
• Your rights under the Consumer Act of the Philippines (Republic Act No. 7394) or any other right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Our professional liability for work carried out under a signed appointment is governed by that appointment and by the law applying to architectural practice — not by this page. Nothing here reduces it.

These terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.

Any dispute arising from these terms or from use of this site shall be brought before the proper courts of Quezon City, Metro Manila, to the exclusion of any other venue — except where the law gives a consumer the right to bring an action elsewhere, which this clause does not remove. [Confirm the agreed venue with counsel before publishing.]

Before anyone files anything, we would rather talk. Write to us and we will try to resolve it directly.

If any provision of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a provision on some occasion, that is not a waiver of it.
